About MapMeGo
In this project we were tasked to create a mobile game application for specific player types. There are two different categories for player types in game, Willing to Play and Not Willing to Play.
In my case, the "Willing to Play" player types, I have chosen Achievers and Socialisers.
Reasons why I chose these player types:
Achievers
Most games usually cater to people who want to collect all the game items. For my app, you will obviously start with a starter pet and the only way to get new and better-looking pets is to travel a certain amount of distance in order to get new pets. So, the further you have travelled the nice pets you will be able to get. Other than pets, accessories will also be rewarded.
Socialisers
With my game, I plan on making a kind of collaborative system, so for example, a certain reward requires a total of 150 kilo meters in order to get it and obviously, one of the best ways to get it would be to collaborate with other people. My app will also allow messages to be sent to their own friends.
As for the "Not Willing to Play" player types, I have chosen Networkers and Self-seeker.
Reasons why I chose these player types:
Networkers
Since my game has a collaborative system, most people would probably just be friend someone just to get a reward. They would mostly use my app just for a personal gain and not really participate in much social interactions with the friends they have added in the app.
Self-seekers
For my game, there will be certain rewards for collaborating with other people for a total number of times and the total distance they have travelled while collaborating with other people. So, for the Self-Seeker player types, this will be the easiest way to gain the rewards they want.
Thinking Process
I chose these main 4 player types as I feel that they are the most common ones and most successful games mostly cater to these 4 player types
